Women’s Day: Honoring the Journey Towards Equality

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day — a day that is both a celebration and a reminder.

More than a century ago, women marched, protested and spoke up for something that should have been obvious: equal rights, fair working conditions and the right to vote. The first Women’s Day grew out of labor movements in the early 1900s, and today, every 8 March it reminds us how far we have come — and how important it is to keep moving forward.

Women today sail oceans, run businesses, build companies, repair engines, raise families, lead teams, and support each other in countless ways.

This photo shows a small moment from everyday life on a boat: polishing the hull, getting ready for the next sailing season. It may look simple, but it represents something bigger — the freedom to choose our path, to work with our hands, our minds and our passion.

To all the women who keep pushing boundaries, supporting one another and making the world a little better every day — today we celebrate you.

Happy International Women’s Day!
